If you can ride, ride
As lockdown eases, let's leave public transport for those that need it.
We're calling on all Brompton owners and city bike riders, to do their bit and cycle more than they ever have before, to make space for those that need it most.
The more of us that take as much of our journey on two wheels as we can, the better it is for everyone.
Cities For Movement
WHY WE NEED TO ACT NOW
Cycling is proven to bring huge benefits to our societies, to health, the environment and the economy.
There are 66.4 million people in the UK. Only 3% regularly ride a bike.**
Regular physical activity reduces depression up to 30% and the chance of developing cancer by up to 45%.***
Over 8,000 hectares of Central London land is taken up by parked cars. That’s the same size as 57 Hyde Parks, 6.6 Heathrow Airports or 5,714 Football Pitches.****
1 parking space = 42 Bromptons. Surely there is a better way to use car parking space?

Did you know that 68% of car journeys in the UK are less than 5 miles?
Cycling and walking is the obvious choice for short journeys, but people often use a car.
Imagine the impact we could have if we all committed to making those trips by bike or foot?
